Chapter 29

3 months later

Carmen slid into a pair of yoga pants and put a tee shirt on over her upper torso. Her hair was sitting on top of her head in a sloppy bun. She grabbed her car keys and her Prada bag and headed out the door. She was meeting with Vincent to go to her 6-month checkup. She was happy that today would be the day that she would find out what she was having.

Things between her and Vincent were going really well. The two of them weren’t together but they were acting as if they were. Every other appointment she would rotate the two between Andre and Vincent, being that she was clueless to whom the father of her child was. She had no shame in her game; they drove an hour outside of their hometown to keep things on the low. For her first appointment, so there wouldn’t be any confusion, she told her doctor that it was two men who she might have been pregnant by.

Carmen laid across the table as the cold gel was placed onto her stomach. Vincent stood beside her rubbing his hands through her hair. She couldn’t believe how caring and loving he had turned out to be.

The doctor took many of shots at trying to determine the sex of the baby, then finally she got a quick shot at the baby who had its legs wide open. “It’s a GIRL!” She cheered

Tears ran down Carmen’s cheeks. “I’m having a girl.” She turned to Vincent and said.

Vincent wiped the tears of joy from her face. “We are having a girl.” He corrected her.

Carmen nodded and turned to look at the screen with her little bigheaded baby doing all types of tricks inside her stomach.

Vic felt terrible for how he did Keysha but he had to help her see the light since she seemed to be so blind. Since Keysha had found out what he had done, she had been acting weird towards him. Yet he figured that she still loved him being that they were still living under the same roof.

Keysha had just left out to go to get her monthly pampering, which consisted of her nails and feet done, and her hair upkeep.

Vic quickly rushed to the grocery store and got food to prepare for the dinner that he was cooking later. He then rushed to the mall, purchasing Keysha a nice gown, a few lingerie sets, a couple of designer bags and some shoes.

It wasn’t a holiday or any special occasion, he was just working extremely hard to get his baby back. Already he had learned that Keysha was the type to hold her feelings in and he learned the hard way that she was just as stubborn as she wanted to be. He needed to see the fire back in her eyes that she had the day they met. He wanted their love back to dancing to a beat that only the two of their hearts could ever understand.
